Jackie works in a variety of media to explore her different subject matter. Her work is strong in colour and composition and will occasionally have texture added. Sometimes a straightforward drawing will convey all that she wants to say, but that can also trigger new ideas that she will pursue until she feels she has exhausted the possibilities.

Jackie will sometimes distil and refine her subject until she thinks it has reached it’s final conclusion, all the time assessing and reassessing the painting and responding to the development of the image.

Jackie’s subjects are wide and varied from still life to figure drawing from landscape to abstracts, each subject suggesting a different way of approaching the way she works.

Jackie has exhibited throughout North Yorkshire with many solo exhibitions, her work can be seen on her website and in many local galleries, she has also been a regular participant in the North Yorkshire Open Studios.
